A Quick Guide to Modular Renovation

A Quick Guide to Modular Renovation

Turn a modular trailer into a one-of-a-kind unit for your needs with our handy renovation guide!

A world of possibilities opens up when you obtain a mobile office trailer. One might see them commonly used on construction sites, hospitals, major events grounds, and other sites, but one can also use them for plenty of other purposes. Modular buildings are a great investment for those looking for a quick, affordable, and efficient way to get the accommodations you need, which often means that some renovations are at hand. Below is a brief guide to modular renovation with Allied Trailers!

Check Out Allied’s Discounted Trailers!

Allied Trailers has a plentiful inventory of discounted office trailers at their eight branch locations along the east coast. From Maryland down to Florida, you can visit one of their sites to learn more about the products and units they are currently selling. Allied Trailers can help make the process of finding and purchasing the right trailer quick and easy!

Haul It Away

Allied Trailers offers delivery and pick-up services, so if you are purchasing a discounted modular unit, Allied can also bring it over to your location and install it properly. Otherwise, you can also go with a third-party deliverer or drive it away and install it yourself.

Permits

Before buying and driving the trailer away, you will need to make sure that you have all your paperwork filed. You will likely need insurance for your trailer, and you will need permits to park your unit on your site. These permits may be on the local and state level. Allied Trailers can give guidance on this process.

Plan the Renovation

Once you have your unit, you can make plans for the modular renovation itself. One can turn it into practically anything they want, such as a classroom, a conference room, a ticket booth, a camper, a pop-up shop, and so much more. You will want to work with contractors who can also finalize a sound design.

Demolition Day

Demolition day is an exciting event! If you are doing it yourself, be prepared with all the safety gear and demolition tools you’ll need. Demo day is not just the day to gut out the trailer, but to install framing and flooring too!

Construction

The construction phase begins next. If you are totally gutting out and renovating your mobile trailer, this process can take up to 6-8 weeks. One should be prepared to face possible interruptions like delays in deliveries and inclement weather.

Painting

Once the inside is finished, it’s time to tackle the outside. You can paint the exterior however you like; you can typically expect an 8×20 foot trailer to take 5 gallons of paint. Remember to do the job when there are clear skies in the forecast. Once it is fully dry, your modular renovation is complete!
